So our own "Spygate Saga" has taken a James Bond turn. After Billy Masethla was persecuted (the poor man even broke down and cried infront of a judge) by NIA (read Mbeki) for a whole year since he was fired, now, the purported partner in crime, Mr. Kunene, is also feeling the heat. Billy now looks a shadow of his enigmatic self, once the Head of SA Intelligience, a real super-spy.
Now he looks old and rugged, beard like Mbeki's uncombed, still his mismatched clothing style (brown leather shoes and grey pants). On the other hand, Mr. Kunene (the IT specialist who dug up the emails), looks like a zombi, the man is scared....moral of the story...do not mess up with Mbeki!!!
Billy is quite a disciplined man i must say, after all the persecution, he has not come close to undressing people in power liek i was anticipating. He is a true soldier, willing die to die for his masters, even he he is at the receiving end of unfair treatment. I still would like to know why Billy authorised surveilance on Saki Macozoma's house...what was the reason, somebody tell me? What is it that he could have found out that made Mbeki so angry to a point where he could fire his head of Intelligence? Furthermore, if Billy is telling the truth that the hoax emails that were presented to the courts were altered, what was in the original ones that Mr. Kunene spied on?
So Mr. Kunene goes to a radio station, tells the nation that the ANC wants to destroy him before the Limpopo conference. After the interview, he gets shot in the hand. Now, no one honestly knows if he staged it or some lunatic heard him on radio and just wanted to spite him...OR the conspiracy plan was just unfolding. Muzi Kunene looks like a nervous wreck, he now knows never ever to mess around with the Intelligence ghosts. Whether this is just a conspiracy it does not matter anymore, the mess has blown over, the ANC presidential race is now in full steam, we did not need a prophet to prophesy...it a mess, and it is now getting bloody! One bullet has gone off...how many more to come?
